WHAT TIME IS IT?
You may know that answer by now, but if you didn’t, you know for sure. Sunday in San Diego, it was Heim Time.
The young phenom Corey Heim collected his first career NASCAR Cup Series victory courtesy of a late race pass on his teammate Tyler Reddick, after some slight contact where the No. 45 cleared way for the No. 67 to take off.
The defending Craftsman Truck Series champion has spent 2026 on a partial schedule, which some criticized Toyota Racing for, but it seems to be paying off as the driver has already won a handful of Truck Series races, and now his first at the top level.
In second was Bubba Wallace, who somehow rallied from a wheel falling off and going two laps down. He battled Kyle Larson for that spot, who faded off just a bit and finished third.
Zane Smith completes an incredible day where him and his No. 38 team continue on their hot streak in the summer, followed by road ringer AJ Allmendinger finishing in fifth.
Chris Buescher, Ross Chastain, Riley Herbst, Ryan Blaney, and Michael McDowell rounded out the top ten.
Shane van Gisbergen, the obvious favorite, was wiped out early on in a big restart crash that also collected Austin Hill and Connor Zilisch.
