From worst to first… AGAIN!
Denny Hamlin had to drop to the rear of the field to start Sunday’s race at Michigan, similiar to when he was sent to the rear at Nashville as well. But just like a week ago, the veteran stayed consistent, and drove all the way through the field to be in position to win once again.
Hamlin extended a 10+ second lead on second place after a long-ish green flag run to finish off the race, en route to notching his third win of the season. And with a Tyler Reddick DNF, he can close that gap big time on the points lead.
There is a lot of great finishes to talk about throughout the field, including Erik Jones.

That Jones Boy has been on a FANTASTIC streak as of late, scoring a P3 at Dover, P13 at Charlotte, P11 at Nashville, and now a P2 at Michigan? Incredible run for a team that continues to grow, and a driver that has certainly proved himself as a Chase threat.
Bubba Wallace rebounded nicely from what was a very rough month of May, to a third place finish to kickoff June. He fought all day long inside the top five, as well as Kyle Larson who was able to rally to fourth.

Carson Hocevar slipped back to fifth and was accompanied by his teammate Daniel Suarez who finished sixth. Both drivers are making a significant run inside the top 10 in points.
“The Hurricane” will certainly be under a microscope once again this week, as he was the primary instigator in a big pileup crash on a restart around the middle of the race.
Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, Chris Buescher, and Chase Briscoe rounded out the top 10.
Austin Cindric, Cole Custer, Riley Herbst, John Hunter Nemechek, and Josh Berry round out the top 15 finishers, all HUGE runs for them and their respective organizations.
