23XI Racing announced just hours before Saturday night’s race that Riley Herbst will not be driving their No. 35 Toyota at Daytona, due to lingering effects from his hard crash the previous weekend at New Hampshire.

Herbst was turned into the wall after contact by Michael McDowell, slamming the SAFER barrier rear-end first, with the car coming off the ground momentarily.

This is not the first time whatsoever we have seen a driver miss time due to a crash in the Next Gen car, as we just recently saw Alex Bowman announce his soon-to-be retirement due to lingering issues after crashes in this car.

Harrison Burton, the 2024 winner of the Coke Zero 400, and LEGACY Motor Club’s reserve driver, will drive in Herbst’s place.
